How to reach us when something isn’t working, and answers to the questions that come up most.

Get in touch

Email skisquad@jambrek.com. Say what you were doing and what happened, and which phone you use. We usually answer within two working days.

Recording stopped while the phone was in my pocket

On an iPhone, SkiSquad needs to be allowed to use your location Always to keep recording with the screen off: open the iPhone’s Settings → Apps → SkiSquad → Location and choose “Always”. On Android, the phone’s battery saving can stop the app: the recording check in the app’s Settings shows what to change on your phone. SkiSquad records your location only while you are recording a ski day.

I can’t see a friend on the map

A friend is on the map only while they are recording a ski day, and only for the squads they share the day with. The map shows one squad at a time: tap the squad’s name at the top of the map to switch. Someone in ghost mode, or recording just for themselves, is on nobody’s map. Where there is no signal, a friend stays where the app last heard from them until their phone is back online.

There is no signal on the mountain

Download your resort in the app on Wi-Fi before you go. The map, the runs and the lifts then work offline, your day is recorded on the phone, and it uploads when the signal comes back.

My numbers look wrong

Speed and distance come from the phone’s GPS, which is less precise in a deep pocket, in a gondola or between high rock walls. Vertical metres are measured with the phone’s barometer where it has one. If a day looks wrong, email us the date and the resort.

Your data and your account

The privacy page says what SkiSquad records and who can see it. Delete your account explains how to delete your account and everything in it, in the app or by email.
